Natural blue sapphire · The House of Corundum S03
Named Selene for the quiet light that emerges from its darker body color. This one-of-one sapphire has an individually designed rectangular outline, clipped corners and broad, deliberate flashes.
A deep midnight-blue body color with an inky navy foundation. As the stone moves, concentrated flashes of royal and electric blue appear across the facets, creating a restrained face-up color that comes alive in direct light.
Photographed to represent the stone accurately. Exposure and white balance may be corrected; gemstone color, clarity and condition are not digitally altered.

Natural blue sapphire · The House of Corundum S04
Named Vaelora for its watchful, almost otherworldly presence. A compact one-of-one sapphire shaped as a softly rectangular octagon, with clipped corners and step-like facets that frame its blue center.
An ink-dark blue sapphire with a cool cobalt core. In softer light it reads as deep navy, while movement reveals vivid royal-blue and electric-cobalt reflections along the sides and corners. The contrast between its shadowed center and bright blue facet flashes gives the stone a dramatic, nocturnal character.

Natural blue sapphire · The House of Corundum S05
Named Nerith for the submerged blue light held within its square form. This one-of-one sapphire was cut by hand with clipped corners and a custom arrangement of broad, angular facets that frame its deep center and release flashes around the perimeter.
A deep blue to subtly teal-blue sapphire with an ink-dark center. Movement brings out saturated ocean-blue, peacock-blue and bright cyan reflections along the corners and stepped edges. In softer light it appears calm and shadowed; under direct light, the outer facets brighten into a luminous ring of cool blue.
Photographed to represent the stone accurately. Exposure and white balance may be corrected; gemstone color, clarity and condition are not digitally altered.

Natural ruby · The House of Corundum R01
Named Vespera for the ember-like light that appears within its deeper red body color. This one-of-one pear was individually cut to preserve the natural material while drawing concentrated light through its rounded shoulders and defined point.
A deep wine-red to slightly purplish-red body color that opens into vivid crimson, cherry-red and ember-like flashes as the stone moves. In softer light it appears darker and more restrained; under direct light, the crown and shoulder facets ignite with concentrated red reflections.

See this ruby in a simple four-prong yellow-gold solitaire. The image is a setting concept using the actual stone as reference; final proportions and craftsmanship may vary.

Natural Kashmir purple sapphire rough · The House of Corundum KP01
Its broad, flatter profile favors a low-profile artisan fantasy design built around the natural outline. That approach can preserve more weight and visible character than forcing the stone into a deep standardized shape, subject to what becomes visible during cutting.
Finished weight and dimensions cannot be guaranteed. Rough may lose up to 75% of its original weight during cutting.

Natural Kashmir purple sapphire rough · The House of Corundum KP02
Its compact outline and useful 4.8 mm depth offer several design paths. An artisan cushion, oval or asymmetrical fantasy cut could follow the natural form and retain more character and weight than forcing an exact calibrated shape. Final orientation will depend on color direction, silk and internal features visible during cutting.
Finished weight and dimensions cannot be guaranteed. Rough may lose up to 75% of its original weight during cutting.

Natural Kashmir purple sapphire rough · The House of Corundum KP03
This deeper, irregular crystal offers more vertical material than the first two pieces. Its natural taper could suit a compact pear, oval, cushion or freeform fantasy design. A final plan should follow the strongest color direction and work around the visible surface texture and any internal features revealed during preforming.
Finished weight and dimensions cannot be guaranteed. Rough may lose up to 75% of its original weight during cutting.

Natural multicolored sapphire rough · The House of Corundum MC01
This long, low-profile crystal carries a shifting palette of blue, teal and green with yellow accents. Its 2.45 mm depth favors a weight-conscious artisan design that follows the natural outline—such as a freeform shield, kite or elongated fantasy cut—while deliberately placing the color zones across the finished face. Forcing a deep calibrated shape would likely sacrifice more material and may diminish the stone’s multicolored character.

Natural multicolored sapphire rough · The House of Corundum MC02
A dark blue-teal body is crossed by a softer green-to-yellow current that shifts with orientation. Its elongated outline and 3.0 mm depth allow more flexibility than the flatter companion piece. A weight-conscious shield, kite, oval or asymmetrical fantasy design could preserve the natural silhouette while placing the lighter color band where it remains visible across the finished face.

Natural multicolored sapphire rough · The House of Corundum MC03
This compact crystal has unusually generous 4.3 mm depth for its 8.1 × 4.6 mm outline. Its dark blue-teal body transitions through forest green with subdued yellow undertones. A carefully oriented oval, cushion, shield or freeform fantasy cut could use that depth to build light return while preserving the layered multicolor character. Final design should follow the strongest color direction revealed during preforming.
Finished weight and dimensions cannot be guaranteed. Rough may lose up to 75% of its original weight during cutting.

Natural yellow sapphire rough · The House of Corundum YS01
This elongated crystal is predominantly yellow, with champagne, olive and soft golden undertones that shift between its natural faces. Its useful 4.5 mm depth offers room for a bright oval, pear, cushion or character-led fantasy design. Careful orientation can keep the warmest yellow visible through the face while working around the irregular outer surface and preserving as much weight as the final design allows.
Finished weight and dimensions cannot be guaranteed. Rough may lose up to 75% of its original weight during cutting.

Natural blue sapphire rough · The House of Corundum PB01
This compact sapphire appears predominantly blue in the rough, with blue-teal color visible through portions of the crystal. Its useful 3.9 mm depth gives room for a weight-conscious cushion, oval, shield or character-led fantasy design. Careful orientation may bring forward a peacock-blue appearance in the finished stone, although the exact color, brightness and zoning cannot be guaranteed until the rough is opened and cut.

Natural teal-blue sapphire rough · The House of Corundum TB01
This compact sapphire is teal-blue dominant, with deeper blue and green-teal character visible through different natural faces. Its balanced 7.8 × 5.5 mm outline and useful 4.4 mm depth provide several weight-conscious options, including an oval, cushion, shield or freeform fantasy design. Final orientation should favor the strongest teal-blue face while preserving depth for light return and working around the irregular outer surface.
Finished weight and dimensions cannot be guaranteed. Rough may lose up to 75% of its original weight during cutting.

THE HOUSE OF CORUNDUM STANDARD / 01
Heat can improve color. Treatment can conceal nature. We choose neither. Every stone from The House of Corundum begins as natural rough and is cut to reveal the character already within it—not manufacture a different one.
WHY NATURAL? / 02
Synthetic sapphire and ruby can be beautiful, durable and share the same basic chemistry and crystal structure as natural corundum. But they can be produced again. A natural gemstone cannot.
Every natural sapphire and ruby is the result of geological events that unfolded millions—and in some deposits, billions—of years ago. Its color zoning, inclusions and subtle irregularities form a record of that origin. They are not manufacturing defects; they are part of what makes the stone individual.
We choose natural, untreated corundum because its rarity is genuine. No laboratory growth, no heat-driven color improvement and no treatment intended to disguise its original character. Faceting reveals the color, structure and light already inside.
Formed through ancient geological processes. The exact age depends on its origin.
Made under controlled conditions and capable of being produced again.
“A synthetic stone can be recreated. A natural untreated stone can only be discovered.”

Important rough-stone disclosure. All rough-stone dimensions are best estimates. Faceting commonly removes 50–75% of a rough stone’s original weight, and finished weight, dimensions, color and appearance cannot be guaranteed. Inclusions, fractures, stress or zoning may become visible during cutting. Artisan hand cutting generally prioritizes weight retention and the stone’s individual character; calibrated sizes or specified designs may require additional material loss. For a particular color, calibrated measurement or custom design, contact The House of Corundum before ordering.
HONEST PHOTOGRAPHY / 04
Gemstones rarely look exactly the same under every light. Our photographs and videos are made to represent each stone honestly—not to create an idealized version of it.
Images may be cropped and adjusted for accurate exposure and white balance, but color, clarity, inclusions and surface condition are not digitally enhanced or concealed. Whenever possible, stones are shown in multiple lighting conditions and in motion, giving you a more complete view before purchasing.
The goal is simple: the gemstone you receive should meet—or exceed—the expectations created by its photographs.THE CUTTING ROOM / 05
Each stone is oriented, preformed, faceted and polished in-house. The process is documented through close-up photography and/or timelapse—so the journey from rough to finished gem remains part of the stone.
